OUR BRAND STORY
Her Pivot House was born out of a life shaped by unexpected turns, closed doors, and holy redirections.
For as long as I can remember, my life has been a series of pivots. Not the cute, pre-planned kind, but the kind that leave you standing at a fork in the road with shaking hands and a whisper of faith. As a Black woman navigating education, career, grief, motherhood, and identity, I learned early that life doesn’t always ask for your permission before it shifts.
I pivoted when I walked away from a job with no plan except the quiet conviction that God had more for me.
I pivoted when I lost my son, Liam. A heartbreak that shattered the ground beneath me but also cracked open a deeper calling. My grief became a teacher, my healing became a mission, and my voice became a vessel.
I pivoted again when I chose motherhood on my own terms, trusting that love, faith, and purpose would make room for the life I prayed for.
Motherhood pivoted me once more when my twins were diagnosed with autism, reminding me that motherhood requires a strength that is both tender and unshakeable.
With each pivot, the voices of doubt, fear, and criticism showed up. But so did courage. So did clarity. So did God.
Not every pivot came with a plan. But the vision of something greater; something anchored in service, purpose, and the sacred responsibility of womanhood carried me every time.
And while walking through my own transitions, I noticed a pattern: the women sitting across from me in therapy sessions were fighting similar battles. High-achieving, capable, heart-led women who were exhausted from holding everything together. Women who were grieving silently, changing silently, struggling silently, and pivoting silently.
I realized I wasn’t alone, and they weren’t either.
But therapy had limits: ethical boundaries, insurance barriers, systemic restrictions that kept me from showing up in the full, liberated way my spirit desired. I needed a space where I could guide, uplift, and pour into women without red tape. A space where healing and personal development didn’t have to be confined by clinical walls.
So, I pivoted one more time...
And Her Pivot House, LLC was born.
